A what-not on a Tuesday night from a Louis Malle film, draped, at first, with Francois Truffaut conditioning, maybe in terms of its allusions to Les Quatre Cents Coups (1959), threw me off my seat. Engineering thematically outside of the film world is not much talked about in films or in film criticism. Spotting it in Au Revoir, Les Enfants (1987) is a rare occasion and therefore must be celebrated. So cheers! Cheers to Engineering and the rest of the world!
